The Project
The objective was to develop the branding for an online store while seamlessly integrating smart filters and intuitive navigation, addressing the frustration users often experience with outdated and overly complex interfaces.
Pear House is a playful yet sophisticated e-commerce concept for children's toys, combining Scandinavian minimalism with a warm, approachable brand. The goal was to design an online store that feels both delightful for kids and trusted by parents.
The Problem
Users -especially parents- are tired of complicated and user-unfriendly apps that make shopping for their children a chore. They are already busy in their daily life working and are looking high-quality products that keep their toddlers happy and occupied.
The Process
The project began with competitor analysis of premium toy brands and parent-focused retail experiences. Insights revealed a desire for simple navigation, gender-neutral aesthetics, and storytelling that balances education and play. I also conducted surveys with parents to understand their values—quality, design, and sustainability were top priorities.
I started with low-fidelity wireframes focused on clarity: clean product grids, streamlined navigation, and intuitive filtering. From there, I created high-fidelity mockups with muted background, a splash of colour for the buttons, and interaction cues aimed at making browsing an easy and enjoyable experience for busy parents.
Defining User Stories
As a customer, I want to be able to place multiple items in a shopping cart, so that I can purchase more than one item at a time.
As a customer, I want there to be a variety of payment options, so that I can choose the payment method that suits me best.
As a new customer, I want to access the inventory without having to register, so that I can make sure this store has what I’m looking for before having to create an account
As a customer, I want to have access to advanced filtering options, so that I don’t have to
browse through a lot of products to find what I’m looking for.
From these user stories I created the user flow which is reflected in the final wireframes.
